The School of Art and Visual Studies (SAVS) at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position for one year, to teach a variety of courses in Art Education, beginning August 2017. A visiting faculty employee with a salaried full-time appointment is not eligible for University contributions toward employee benefits (notably retirement), but may participate at their own expense in certain University health benefit programs.

The successful candidate will work with other full-time faculty members in the Art Education Program. Teaching assignments will be determined in consultation with the Art Education faculty. Applicants must have a MFA or a Ph.D., and requisite experience teaching art education courses. The successful candidate will teach 3 courses per semester. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will also be expected to perform service to the Art Education Program. Qualified applicants should have strong technical and conceptual knowledge of art education theories and practices and be able to clearly and effectively communicate with students and fellow faculty and staff members.
