Position Summary

The Department of English at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro invites applications for a tenure-track assistant or advanced assistant professor position in Rhetoric and Composition, to begin August 1, 2017. The position described below is one of two positions we hope to fill. If applying for this position, please reference the "Digital Rhetoric" position in your letter of application.

Digital Rhetoric, with desirable research and/or teaching interests in digital composing and design, social justice / social movement rhetoric, or race, transnational, or cultural studies.

All applicants should show evidence of a strong independent research program, a commitment to working with students from diverse backgrounds, and excellence in teaching. The successful applicant for this position will teach courses in rhetoric and writing at the undergraduate and graduate level, will advise undergraduates and contribute to the supervision of M.A. and Ph.D. students, and will pursue research related to the applicant's area of specialization.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must hold or anticipate a Ph.D. in Rhetoric and Composition or a related discipline by August 1, 2017.
Candidates who have prior experience at the Assistant Professor level will have the opportunity to discuss an accelerated timeline toward tenure prior to appointment



Preferred Qualifications

Training, experience, or interest in digital writing and design technology.
