Position Summary
Become a part of the team at the newly renovated, re-branded, 4-diamond style Inn at Villanova University!

The Event Planner will report to the Director of Sales and Catering and assist the entire Sales Department in delivering a comprehensive and cohesive quality experience for all clients of The Inn at Villanova University. Planning, administering and executing events related but not limited to Corporate Events, Social Events and Villanova Faculty and Staff Events. Inspect and maintain events as per agreement with group requirement and company standards and resolve and problems. Creatively, this individual is proactive in developing event protocol and translating business strategies and relationships into appropriate stewardship of all clients. This individual must effectively interface with a myriad of internal and external constituents.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning and executing details of events which include but are not limited too menu, décor, collateral materials, gifts, accommodations, transportation, etc. to ensure consistency, quality, cost effectiveness, and success. This individual will also attend events as needed.
  • Maintain records for Catering orders and budgets for assigned events. Provide updates to internal and external constituents in timely fashion.
  • Maintain inventory of hotel sleeping rooms for entire Inn.
  • Maintain inventory of required supplies, and public area room stock levels, and place supply orders as needed within budgetary guidelines.
  • Training and empowering sales team members to exercise good judgment to make profitable business decisions.
  • Communicate all appropriate information to team leaders and managers via the established communication standards.
  • Perform additional duties and assist with projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong knowledge of event planning and relationship management required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in event management.

  • Strong knowledge of event planning and relationship management required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in event management
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal, listening and writing), ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in deadline sensitive environment, highly detail oriented, strong time management, excellent customer service skills with ability to deal with complex customer requests, positive outlook and attitude and innovative, pro-active and reliable.
