One (1) year of automotive equipment operation experience is required.  Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license at the time of hire and for the duration of the appointment.



Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and care of moderately complex motor equipment in the performance of a variety of assigned tasks: operating a truck to transport work crew, tools and other equipment; operating a light truck snow plow or related snow removal equipment; operating light motorized equipment in connection with the hauling of material for road construction and repair.

Performs minor mechanical repairs on automotive equipment; services assigned vehicles and maintains them in a clean condition; loads and unloads trucks; and performs other tasks including cleaning culverts, shoveling snow, painting and road or sewer maintenance work.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an Oneida County Civil Service Application for approval.
