Payroll Assistant (Part-Time)
High school diploma or GED AND a minimum of four (4) years’ experience processing payroll transactions, OR Associate’s degree AND a minimum of two (2) years’ experience processing complex financial or payroll transactions, OR Bachelor’s Degree AND one (1) year experience processing complex financial or payroll transactions required. Microsoft Office experience, attention to detail, ability to prioritize assignments, confidentiality and effective written and communication skills required. Experience with Ellucian Banner software and working in a higher education institution preferred.
The Payroll Assistant’s duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Processes payroll authorizations;
Coordinates and processes payroll related information into College software system;
Audits and analyzes payroll data;
Serves as a liaison with Human Resources regarding payroll matters;
Processes contractual wage adjustments;
Maintains electronic and paper payroll files;
Responds to requests for wage data verification for retirement systems;
Other duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.
