We are seeking a WEB CONTENT SPECIALIST/ COPYWRITER. Depending upon experience, you will be placed in either: Professional Specialist ($36.26 per hour) or Professional Expert ($43.53 per hour) job classification. This is a temporary hourly assignment.

 

It’s an exciting time at Contra Costa College! We have a brand new campus and need to make our online presence match our offline experience.

 

With the aim of creating a unified brand voice and consistent user experience for prospective students, the Content Specialist’s primary function is to help Contra Costa College refresh its website content. In partnership with other marketing team members and internal clients from the college’s academic departments and student services areas, the Content Specialist will collaborate on content strategy, determine effective message hierarchy, and serve as lead copywriter/copyeditor on overviews, how to’s, bios, blogs, alumni/student success stories, etc. The position will also advise on the production of related graphics, images, audio, video, etc., as well as the creation of content templates and governance standards.

 

Depending on experience depends on what job title the candidate will be, either Professional Specialist or Professional Expert.

The job incumbent will be placed as a Professional Specialist or Professional Expert, depending upon experience.

 

Desirable Qualifications

• Expertise in writing effective online copy, with the ability to simplify cumbersome content to create inspiring and actionable information. 

• Strong project and client management skills.

• Basic understanding of best practices in user experience, information architecture, website analytics and SEO as it relates to content engagement.

• Proficient in commonly used marketing software and applications such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, etc.
