Temporary, Graduate Admissions Representative

This is a temporary position with the opportunity to go permanent
The Office of Graduate Admission seeks a motivated individual to serve as the point of contact for prospective students interested in a portfolio of programs. Under the supervision of the Director of Graduate Admission, this position will recruit prospective students, assist with admission requirements, and provide support and guidance to prospective students throughout the enrollment process.
Facilitates enrollment activities for students engaged in enrollment process including conducting student interviews and acting as liaison with appropriate College departments to identify problems and contribute to their resolution.
Provide appropriate follow up and follow through with prospective students from point of inquiry through enrollment.
Present information about how Emerson College may benefit the student's personal, academic and professional needs. Answers questions and responds to prospective student concerns.
One-on-one admissions counseling to diverse populations is an important responsibility of this position. Admissions counseling occurs primarily by in-person appointments, information sessions, presentations, phone calls and emails.
Extensive outreach efforts and interpersonal communication. The candidate should be a self-starter and able to work independently and manage projects simultaneously.
The position will be able to assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
Candidate may be asked to represent the College at local events. Ability to travel locally required.
Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks
-Correspond regularly with prospective students throughout the admission lifecycle
- Meet in person with prospective students
- Actively participate in on-campus recruitment and yield events
-Conduct outbound call campaigns
-Attend local recruiting events
-Lead information sessions on campus
-Respond to general email inquires and answer inbound call lines

Required Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong written and oral communication service skills
- Public speaking skills
- Excellent computer skills in spreadsheets and databases
- Experience working with people in a customer service oriented setting.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks to work effectively, both as a team player and independently.
- Ability to travel is required. Valid driver’s license necessary.
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)

Preferred/Desirable Knowledge:
Previous admissions experience preferred, but not required. Experience in an office setting desirable.
