The division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) includes four major areas: Development, Advancement Services, Alumni Relations, and the Career Development Center. As a part of DAR, the Senior Assistant Director, Outreach and Analysis is responsible for leading a team to secure new, retain, and upgrade existing donors through the design and implementation of initiatives including direct mail, online, social, and student calling. Additionally, this position provides ongoing financial and participation tracking and analysis for Annual Fund efforts. This position reports to the Executive Director, Annual Fund.

Job Duties:
Management and Programmatic:
Serves as a member of the Annual Fund's senior management team which requires close collaboration with the Executive Director on implementation and ongoing analysis of annual operating plan as well as assisting the Executive Director in managing day-to-day operations.
Manages, motivates, and provides leadership to staff focused on Annual Fund Outreach Programs.
Oversees execution and results tracking of all direct mail, calling, online, and social appeals. Closely collaborates with other departments to ensure appropriate timing and audience.
Serves as liaison to internal and external partnerships including, vendor relationships, and cross-disciplinary teams.
Works with the Executive Director to develop overall program and specific segment donor and financial targets to drive activity for participation and dollars.
Develops and implements comprehensive strategy and calendar for integrated and multi-channel fundraising strategy that follows donor preference. Ensures all efforts communicate consistent messaging and are timed appropriately.
Provides ongoing tracking toward goals, objectives, and schedules. Closely reviews progress and recommends and implements data-driven strategies to improve performance.
Partners with colleagues and works creatively to increase dollars and participation for discrete fundraising programs including Young Alumni, Faculty/Staff, Student Philanthropy, and Reunion.
Supports the Executive Director with budget management and development, especially as it pertains to direct report(s).

Reporting & Analytics:
Provides ongoing tracking of goals, objectives, schedules, and communications for all Annual Fund initiatives.
Analyzes initiatives, provides year over year comparisons, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
Provides ongoing tracking of expenses and return on investment for Annual Fund initiatives.
Assists the Executive Director with financial projects, modeling, and goal setting.
Produces daily, weekly, and monthly reports on financial, participation, and programmatic progress. Reviews with the Executive Director and implements data-driven strategies to improve results.

General:
Participates in division-wide and University-wide events, committees, and project teams to advance priority projects of the University.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Five years of fundraising or closely related experience (the individual must demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed using a combination of skills and experience)
Two years of direct one-on-one personal solicitation experience
Two years of personnel, volunteer, or program management experience with demonstrated success
Two years of experience with Student Calling, Telemarketing, or closely related experience
Two years of experience with direct marketing in a non-profit environment
Demonstrates ability to develop and implement strategic and tactical plans, work within tight timelines, both independently and in a team environment
Demonstrates analytical skills, preferably related to fundraising/marketing campaigns and ability to determine and implement data-driven strategies
Demonstrates familiarity with CRM systems, ability to develop strategic plans, set objectives, and achieve program goals
Demonstrates organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks concurrently
Displays proficiency with electronic tools including email, calendar software, various databases, and Microsoft Office suite
Effective written and oral communication skills
Demonstrates proficiency and experience with fundraising projections, prospect forecasting, and prospect management tools
Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and tact, ability to interface professionally, and tailor communications to diverse audiences, and to maintain confidentiality

Other Requirements:
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work to support DAR's signature events including significant blocks of time during the weekend events. This also requires a commitment to attend/participate in on-campus and off-campus events/activities outside of normal business hours as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications:
Fundraising experience in a higher education setting
Management of a student calling program in a higher education setting
Valid U.S. driver's license
