Summary of the Position

The Advancement Communications Office, part of the University Advancement (UA) Division at Bentley University, seeks a Communications Specialist to join a team that serves the division's engagement and fund raising efforts. The Communications Specialist will write and edit content; serve as a production manager on print, web and collateral projects; be or become proficient on a variety of technology platforms used to distribute content to alumni and donors; and oversee the department's administrative tasks (budget/invoice tracking, supplies, equipment).

Essential Functions

Develop, implement and oversee a system to monitor project workflow.

Serve as an admin/user for the iModules alumni engagement platform, build and send emails, newsletters and more.

Coordinate relationships with outside vendors (designers, photographers and printers) and internal clients.

Serve as production manager for print and digital content; serve as liaison with Marketing Communications Office.

Update and maintain the Alumni and Advancement websites by posting stories and images, writing headlines, and editing and proofing copy.

Produce and post content to social media channels, and assist with larger editorial projects.

Establish and maintain a division-wide photo archive.

Provide support to Senior Assistant Directors and the Executive Director as needed.

Manage the office budget, equipment maintenance and interact with procurement.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience Requirements)

Bachelor's degree and 3-4 years of total work-related experience.

Detail oriented, with strong written, oral communications and proofreading skills.

Ability and willingness to learn new platforms is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with Excel, Drupal and HTML preferred.

Prior experience in a communications setting is preferred.
