Faculty, Associate Degree Nursing (#19993) KW 

Position Summary  
Provides learning activities and support that lead to the achievement of course objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the Lone Star College System and the community. Responsibilities include learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary functions are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning.

Job Functions  
1.Teaches Associate Degree and Vocational Nursing courses at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.
2.Plans, supervises, and evaluates student clinical experiences in assigned health care facilities and in simulation lab, and initiates conferences with students encountering clinical difficulties.
3.Communicates objectives for student performance to the clinical facility administration and nursing staff.
4.Serves on college and System committees, as required, and serves as a community resources person, representing the college to outside groups as needed.
5.Works collaboratively with other faculty, CE staff, departments and division on schedule development, marketing events, faculty recruitment, hiring, classroom observation, student recruitment and retention efforts, budget development, and special events.
6.Submits required college reports and forms in a timely manner.
7.Develops and utilizes a course syllabus for each course following established institutional guidelines.
8.Provide timely, quality access to students through posted office hours, electronic communications, and other appropriate methods, and advises students in academic matters.
9.Continuously improves instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods including collaborative learning, learning communities, service learning, instructional technology, and distance learning.
10.Evaluates student performance by a variety of means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives and informs them in a timely manner of their progress.
11.Maintains professional relationships with students, colleagues, and the community.
12.Develops and pursues working relationships with area high schools, businesses, and industries.
13.Work with Nursing Lab Coordinator to manage and administer the Simulation Lab.
14.Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications  
Master's degree in Nursing and 3 years non-teaching work experience in the field.
Must hold a current unencumbered Texas RN license.
