The Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy (GSPHHP) is one of four independent professional schools among the 25 colleges of the City University of New York, the largest metropolitan university in the US. Situated in a new vertical campus in the heart of Harlem in New York City, the GSPHHP provides cutting edge graduate level public health degree programs and is dedicated to identifying, designing, implementing and evaluating public health initiatives that promote population health and social justice through leadership and innovation. Our School attracts a diverse body of students from NYC as well as nationally and internationally. GSPHHP faculty members are recognized leaders in health policy, community health interventions, epidemiology and biostatistics, and public health informatics, among other areas. Faculty and students are actively engaged in addressing critical public health problems in New York and other cities around the world. We work closely with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the largest such department in the US on a range of initiatives that directly impact the health of NYC residents. Our faculty and students also collaborate with global partners on capacity building, research, and service. Applicants may also wish to peruse the School's centers and institutes to learn more about our current research and community projects.

The GSPHHP is experiencing a phase of ambitious growth and as such is seeking to expand its interdisciplinary faculty. We intend to recruit up to 3 tenured or tenure track faculty positions at the Associate or Full Professor level. Preferred areas of specialization include, but are not limited to, epidemiology, human nutrition, environmental health, chronic disease epidemiology, and mental health. The search committee will consider applications from collaborative research groups within the disciplines mentioned above, especially those representing domains aligned with the mission and priorities of the School, including elimination of health disparities, community health interventions, women's and children's health, immigrant and global health.

We are invested in recruiting seasoned public health leaders who will help to shape the future of our School. Successful candidates will be expected to play a leadership role in creating new initiatives and enhancing existing programs, expanding funding acquisition in promising areas, and developing collaborative relationships within CUNY and with external partners.

This position will start in Fall 2017.
