CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: receive, unpack, repack, and store deliveries. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, refrigerators, freezers, equipment in the culinary labs and kitchen as well as teaching labs' floors, sinks, and storage areas. Maintain storage of food products, repurposing/cooking leftovers and preparing stocks, glazes, etc. Sanitize work areas, cleaning up and washing as needed. Fill culinary classes' food/equipment/supplies requisitions. Reorganize storage closets and equipment cages after each class and inspect each culinary lab after each class while the students are present to make sure everything is sanitary and in order for the next class. Communicate short/inadequate product from Chefs to Supervisor. Answer questions from Professors regarding equipment and food. Must be able to set up cooking stations including food supplies. Assist the Buildings and Grounds staff with collecting the food grade plastic compost boxes for removal from the Main MAC Kitchen. Maintain communications between Supervisor, staff and students utilizing various technologies as needed. Weekday, weekend and evening shifts are available.
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
- Knowledge of MS Office
- NYC Department of Health Food Protection Certificate strongly preferred.
