FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Medgar Evers College (MEC), a nationally recognized leader in urban-serving education, is one of twenty three colleges within the dynamic City University New York (CUNY) System. The School of Liberal Arts and Education (SLAE) prepares students to achieve their highest academic and career goals through engagement in a learning community endowed with a rich and diverse Liberal Arts curriculum that fosters scholarly excellence, cultural awareness, and social responsibility.
There is an immediate need for Adjuncts for the Department of Mass Communication.
SLAE is seeking Adjuncts for the Fall 2016 semester to perform teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise.They share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. Candidates must be able to teach assigned courses and hold office hours.
- Art History
Candidates are being considered for Adjunct Lecturers and Adjunct Assistant Professors to teach our core art history course, Introduction to World Art, which covers from ancient to modern art both Western and non-Western. Persons with MFA and MA and Ph.D. degrees in art history are encouraged to apply.
- Music History
Candidates are being considered for Adjunct Lecturers and Adjunct Assistant Professors to teach our core music history course, Introduction to World Music, which covers from ancient to modern music both Western and non-Western. Persons with MA, DMA and Ph.D. degrees in music history are encouraged to apply.
Adjunct Assistant Professor:
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required is the ability to teach successfully.
Bachelor's degree in area(s) of expertise, and the ability to teach successfully.
