Posting Summary:
The Department of Pharmacology is seeking a Laboratory Specialist to assist investigators with computational, in vitro and cell-based methodologies. The individual will be expected to provide research support for ongoing research projects related to colorectal and ovarian cancer.

A Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related discipline, and 0-1 year laboratory experience in an academic or industrial laboratory setting, are required. Western blotting, mammalian cell culture (two and three dimensional) and sterile technique, microscopy and image acquisition, nucleic acid isolation and purification, and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction experience are required. Experience with Ingenuity Pathway Analysis or a similar bioinformatics platform, Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint and Excel), and SoftMax Pro is also required. Familiarity with xCELLigence and spheroid-based cell culture systems and GraphPad Prism is preferred.

This is a restricted position and is contingent on the continuation of funding.
