The Department of Pediatrics Section of Neurology has an opening for a full-time Instructor. The Section of Neurology is an interdepartmental program in Pediatrics and Neurology. It has a strong tradition of excellence in basic and clinical research, exceptional clinical services and highly respected residency program. Job responsibilities of this position will include clinical care of children with general neurological disorders in outpatient/inpatient settings.

  • Performing procedures (i.e. botox injection or nerve blocks) if in a subspecialty care group such as headache

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • MD (Medical Doctor), MSN (Masters Science Nursing), MPAS (Physician Assistant)
  • Eligible for licensure in Colorado as an Advance Practice Nurse (FNP, PNP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Condition of Employment:
  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check
  • Must be willing and able to pass a sex offender background check

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong communication skills
  • Broad knowledge and clinical skills in general pediatric neurology
  • Commitment to Patient Safety, Quality Care, Communication, and Customer Service



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Additional training/expertise in pediatric neurology is desirable
  • 1-2 years of nursing or advanced practice experience in pediatric neurology
  • Prescriptive authority in Colorado
  • Nurse practitioner candidate possesses acute care certification, DNP or is willing to obtain acute care certification and/or DNP within 5 years
  • Proficiency in performing lumbar puncture, nerve blocks, or onabotulinum toxin injections
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
