The Office of International Affairs has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) SEVIS Coordinator position.

Jobs at this level provide direct professional support for the teaching and/or educational service mission of the university. Functions include academic advising/counseling, student personnel administration, recruitment and admissions, registration, financial aid, faculty affairs, library services, curriculum administration, and others involving direct support of the educational mission of an academic unit.
Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.
The SEVIS Coordinator manages all reporting to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) for the university's F and J visa programs, as required by the federal government for the university to accept and admit international students and scholars. The SEVIS Coordinator monitors and reviews all extracted data from the CU-SIS (PeopleSoft) and HCM, reconciles inconsistencies, and prepares the data for daily submission to SEVIS using batch processing. The position ensures compliance with related federal regulations and performs a quality-control function in the tracking and timely reporting of relevant events. The SEVIS Coordinator is responsible for SEVIS data maintenance and integrity for the university's international student populations (approximately 1,400 students) and international J-1 scholar population (approximately 250 J-1 Scholars). The position manages international student-related documentation and records, works with the Office of Information Technology to facilitate the transition from ISSM to Sunapsis, and ensure continual data integrity after implementation. The position also updates content on the ISSS website, creates and maintains web-based forms through various platforms, manages communication and yearly workflow for student and scholar records for compliance with federal regulations, and provides excellent customer service to international students and others.
Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at $40,000 to $56,844 and is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

- A bachelor's degree in International Education or a related field from an accredited institution OR a bachelor's degree in any field and at least one year of professional experience in the field of international education.
- 1 year of experience with records management, relational databases, and generating reports
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Conditions of Employment:
Must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the US to comply with Department of State and Department of Homeland Security requirements for authorization as Alternate Responsible Officer and Designated School Official for the University of Colorado Denver's J-1 and F-1 programs, respectively.
- Master's degree in International Education or a related field.
- Demonstrated proficiency and experience in the use of SEVIS (RTI and Batch).
- Experience with Sunapsis.
- Experience using batch processing database and PeopleSoft.
- Progressive experience in international student and scholar services, including experience as Designated School Official and/or Alternate Responsible Officer.
- Experience processing casework for and advising international students in F-1 and J-1 status.
