Degree and Area of Specialization: PhD in biochemistry or related disciplines required.



Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience: Advanced research experience in the use of molecular biology techniques, protein biochemistry, enzyme assays, chromatographic and electrophoretic methods, instrumental analyses and bioinformatic tools is required. An ability to work both independently and in a team environment and demonstrated skills in coordination of staff to achieve scheduled events is required. Prior experience in teaching and in course development (specifically in the development of laboratory modules), the ability to make clear and concise oral and written presentations, and familiarity with state-of-the-art software and hardware for word processing, reference databases, graphics preparation, and audio-visual presentation are highly desirable.



Position Summary: The Department of Biochemistry seeks to hire a Faculty Associate. This is a 6 month appointment to provide instructional contributions and technical support to the operation of the Biochemistry Teaching Laboratory and the capstone course Biochemistry 551 during the Fall 2017 semester.



Additional Information: This is a fixed-term terminal appointment with an expected end date of December 31, 2017. This appointment may be extended up to a maximum of 24 months as a fixed-term terminal appointment or it may become a renewable appointment depending on funding availability, business need, and satisfactory performance.
