Job Description
Coordinator Engineering and Computing Capstone Design Projects (ECCD) and Coordinator Acquisition and Execution of Small Industrial Research Projects:

The coordinator will report to the College of Engineering and Computing Associate Dean for Corporate Relations. He/she will work with the College of Engineering, the McNAIR Center and the Center for Predictive Maintenance (CPM) on the development of new partnerships and opportunities, and the acquisition of industrial projects to sustain and grow the capstone design program and the industrial research program of the college. The coordinator will play an active role in the execution of the acquired projects to conform to instructions of the Associate Dean and the Centers' Directors. Duties include: 1) Acquire Research Projects for ECCD a) Identify 400 corporate contacts as possible partners using existing coordinators' networks and personal connections. b) present and visit 200 potential corporate partners. c) out of the above, secure about 100 projects as good candidates to be used by ECCD student groups in all engineering programs. d) Out of the above, secure about 50 new industry funded projects based on an established funding formula. 30% 2) Acquire research projects for McNair Center and Center for Predictive Maintenance Research Outreach a) Present and visit 50 potential research partners. b) Create 30 proposals for partnerships through an SOW, white paper, etc. c) Develop and sustain 12 advanced manufacturing and predictive maintenance use cases. d) Secure 10 projects to be worked on by a collaboration between a research organization and a corporate partner. e) Present and publish 15 papers from research at industry conferences. f) Assist in producing and possibly presenting lectures for the newly formed aerospace undergraduate major.30% 3) Continue/enhance relationships with existing partners in the Engineering and Computing Capstone Design (ECCD) program and establish new ECCD industrial partnerships related to the activities of the McNair Center and the Center for Predictive Maintenance (CPM). 20% and 4) Conduct marketing and sales activities ranging from one-to-one meetings with clients to presentations at large conference and attendance of business events to market and sell the research endeavors and capabilities of the College.20%


Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in related field and 6 years relevant program experience, or bachelor's degree and 8 years relevant program experience.

The successful candidate must have a proven ability to develop relationships with leaders in a broad range of professions. Effective computer experience including database operation and word processing. Experience with public speaking on technical subjects. Required to travel to geographical location of partners. Must have a valid driver's license.


Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in an engineering discipline with a minimum of 6 years of industry experience. Experience with cloud technologies and working alongside team members who may not be on-site. Familiarity with the Capstone Design class structure and format is advantageous
