Responsibilities

Maintains effective relations via e-mail with prospective and current students, parents, high school guidance counselors, faculty, staff, and departmental representatives. Responds to inquiries regarding admissions, departmental offerings, and campus visits. Evaluates and interprets University policy and procedures and how they relate to an applicant's status for admission. Reviews applicant and student data to adequately counsel and/or make referrals.
Assists the Enrollment Management Specialist (55913) with the hiring, training, and management of several OPS student employees. Monitors and critiques the customer service, problem-solving, and written communications skills of staff. Provides assistance to phones and front desk coverage on an as needed basis.
Develops, interprets, edits, and assists with the maintenance of the content of canned responses for electronic communications for Admissions. Routinely monitors the timeliness of staff's response to e-mail inquiries.
Compiles statistical data and prepares daily reports on incoming and outgoing email communication and productivity. Provides data to the Enrollment Management Specialist (55913) and Assistant Director (53394).

Qualifications

A high school diploma or equivalency and two years experience, or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to two years is required for consideration. Qualified candidates will have experience maintaining effective communications via email and telephone, and experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or comparable software. Customer service experience is required.

Preferred

A Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of experience relevant and related to the responsibilities of the job are preferred. We seek energetic candidates who are detail-oriented, organized and can work well independently as well as in a team. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to multitask, and should have a strong sense of initiative with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently. Preferred candidates will be familiar with university admissions application processes, and should be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Anticipated Salary Range

At or near $22,498.00

This is an USPS (University Support Personnel System) position.
