The University of Kentucky is looking for an individual to assist in the overall advisement, coordination, and management of the Office of Student Organizations and Activities and major campus programmatic support. Work with the Student Activities Board, diverse student groups, and university departments in major event and entertainment planning (homecoming, concerts, popular culture, performing arts, lectures, multicultural programs, etc.). Directly responsible for entertainment contract negotiations. Provides guidance and leadership to student organizations for planning and executing campus events encompassing cultural, entertainment, social, and recreational activities. Assist Student Activities Board in comprising a co-curricular calendar. Responsible for development, management, and presentation of seminars in leadership development, promotion and publicity, event planning, risk management, and personal development for student leaders and advisors. Work closely with student led promotions, publicity, market research and design teams for major (and minor) campus and community programs. Physical Requirements

Lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 lbs. standing and sitting for long periods of time, working major events, and walking across campus.


Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm; 40 hours per week; and occasional evenings and weekends on an as-needed basis.


Ability to plan, organize, and execute special events/projects through working with and advising student led initiatives and student organizations is critical. Related advisory, student development, and programming experience in Student Affairs/Student Activities is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills are key. Experience with budgeting tracking, assessment, risk management, and/or promotional planning is preferred.

Preferred Education/Experience

Master's Degree in Student Personnel/Student Affairs/Higher Education/Student Services or related field with three years of related work experience in student personnel/student affairs working with student activities, leadership development, and/or student programming.
