The College of Information (COI) is home to the Departments of Information Science, Learning Technologies, and Linguistics, which have the collective mission to generate, integrate, and disseminate knowledge in a learner-centered environment. We are located on the Discovery Park campus in north Denton.

Job Description
* This posting is an hourly position and is non-benefits eligible.

The COI-Dean's Office at the University of North Texas is seeking to hire a Non-Student Hourly Administrative Specialist I to join our team.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

* Answer phones, process mail, and file paperwork
* Answer questions and give directions to visitors, students, staff, and faculty with diverse backgrounds
* Simple data entry (Excel)
* Organizing and maintaining the conference room calendar
* Collecting and tracking of documents that arrive to the dean's office for signature
* Assist office staff with special projects and assignments as necessary
* Campus errands (deliver/retrieve materials to other offices between Discovery Park and the main campus)

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess the following required qualifications:

* Graduation from High School or GED equivalent and one year of general office or clerical experience. Substitution of education for experience allowed.

The following knowledge, skills, and abilities are required:
* Skill in evaluating facts or situation to route calls/customers appropriately.
* Skill in telephone etiquette and courteous communications with public.
* Skill in basic office procedures.
* Skill in the use of personal computer/software.
* Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including, personal computers, telephones and copiers.
* Skill in basic filing and recordkeeping.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:

* Excellent oral and written communications skills, with a clear phone voice and the ability to speak English proficiently and clearly
* Ability to maintain confidentiality
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse team
* Follow directions and work independently
* Dress professionally
* Work a flexible schedule (M-F)
