Department Overview
The Institute for Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disease is home to researchers with a wide variety of interests and approaches. The Institute is truly integrative as all faculty are engaged in interdisciplinary studies that span molecular, cellular, systems and behavioral sciences, with strong traditions of excellence in the study of cardiovascular, renal and neural-humoral control systems. The research activities of many of our faculty and graduate students involve studies of normal physiology such as exercise and travel to altitude as well as pathophysiological states such as heart failure, hypertension, cardiopulmonary bypass surgery, diabetes, obesity and sleep apnea.

Position Details
The Institute for Cardiovascular & Metabolic Disease Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire a Professor to join our team.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
* Must be able to direct an independent, funded research program broadly related to autonomic, cardiovascular, and/or cerebrovascular regulation, with a specific focus on human integrative physiology.
* Will participate in the institution's graduate, medical and allied health education programs, so teaching experience is an advantage.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, and at least two years of postdoctoral experience.

Preferred Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
* Ongoing research program with track record of extramural funding, publications, experience teaching and training medical and graduate students.
