Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of the Counseling Center, the Assistant Director provides oversight and management of all aspects of the Counseling and Career Development Center training programs, including but not limited to: supervision of Practicum Coordinator; selection of Interns and Practicum students; oversight of trainees' supervision, and maintenance of accreditation and professional standards, etc.

Essential Job Functions
  • Facilitates individual and group counseling
  • Performs psychological and vocational testing and interpretation
  • Manages crisis intervention and assessment
  • Provides consultations
  • Provides outreach programming on a variety of mental health issues.

    Minimum Education Required:
    Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology; already possess licensure as a Psychologist in Georgia or ability to transfer license to Georgia within 1 year of employment

    Three or more years of related work experience

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    Effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; proficiency with computer and Microsoft Office Applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

    Preferred Education:
    Formal training in the provision of supervision to mental health trainees.

    Preferred Experience:
    Three or more years of post-licensure experience.

    Salary Range: Commensurate with Experience
