Job Description

We are looking to add a Hardware & Software Embedded Microprocessor Systems Designer to our business operations. This position will be responsible for incorporating Object Oriented Programming and embedded software development, design, commission, modify and support control systems.

Here are the major responsibilities:
  • Program micro-controllers using Object Oriented Programming
  • Model results of failure modes and improve system design
  • Identify and implement solutions to manufacturing issues related to equipment and processes
  • Design and diagnose circuits, signal and systems
  • Design electrical systems in compliance with applicable industry standards
  • Evaluate software modules

Essential Skills:
  • Hardware: Electronics, Signals and Systems Analysis, Arduino, Industrial Controls (UL and other standards)
  • Software: Object Oriented Design and Coding, C++, Machine Language, Operating System Design - Interprocess communication and Event Logging

Qualified candidates should possess:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering with a focus on software, Electrical Engineering with additional coursework and experience in software or Computer Science with additional coursework and experience in electronics
  • At least five years of Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and/or Programmer/Analyst experience
  • The qualifying experience must include at least three years where the duties include:
    • Development of embedded software for micro-controllers incorporating Object Oriented Programming;
    • Creating Micro-controller circuit diagrams; and
    • Preparing project documentation (specifications, design plan, test plan, project test plan and project test report)
  • Must be available for occasional travel to company facilities and customer sites to assess software functionality and incorporate improvement.
