Electrical Designer/CAD Operator/3D and BIM Modeler
This position is responsible for the design and drafting of electrical wiring and other systems for company projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Overview of Typical Duties
Prepare CAD drawings for the work assigned.
Read and interpret blueprints. Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment. Follow designated job specifications.
Understand the Installation of switch-gear, distribution panels, transformers, fire alarm systems, trim, lamp fixtures, and other electrical equipment as needed. Apply knowledge of National Electrical Codes as needed.
Master usage of CAD systems and programs utilized by the Company.
Effectively communicate with other members of the project team.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and acceptable attendance and punctuality.

Education, Certificates, Licenses, & Registrations
High school graduate or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred. Proficient in AutoCad 2D and 3D as well as all AutoDesk products including Revit, Navisworks, Glue 360, etc.
2 years experience as a commercial construction drafter, preferably in electrical work.
Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, project specifications and contract documents and apply this information to CAD drawings. Must have the ability to read, comprehend and write instructions and memos. For the purpose of receiving instructions, must have the ability to communicate effectively. Also must possess sufficient speech, writing and communication skills necessary to effectively communicate with project team and carry out other job functions and responsibilities.
Must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists using independent judgment and discretion. Must be able to understand and apply all instructions and safety guidelines furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must possess the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
