Position Summary: The College of Human Environmental Sciences at the University of Alabama seeks applicants for a 9-month non-tenure track Assistant Professor to join our faculty. The individual selected for this position will be expected to cover all sections of HES 509-Research Methods, and will be expected to cover all sections of the graduate-level introductory Research Methods courses throughout the calendar year. The graduate level research methods course is required for all master's degree students in the College; and as our graduate enrollment numbers have more than doubled over the past 12 years there have been increased demands for this class. As of fall 2016, there were 617 masters students enrolled in Human Environmental Sciences. As such, the number of sections of this invaluable research methods course we must offer has greatly increased as well, with three sections offered each fall and spring and at least two sections each summer. There are many opportunities for collaborations with HES faculty in each of our academic units, especially in the areas of child health and human development, nutrition, and health promotion. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate level research methods and advise and mentor HES graduate students, and serve on thesis and dissertation committees.

Minimum Preferred Qualifications: This position requires an earned doctorate in one of the primary Human Environmental Science disciplines in our college, including Consumer Sciences, Health Science, Human Development and Family Studies, Human Nutrition, Hospitality Management, or Clothing Textiles and Interior Design. This is a full time non-tenure track faculty position in the college and there is also an expectation of service to the college and university. Please note that this position requires some summer responsibilities with additional compensation.
