The Center for Teaching Excellence (CTE) is a pan-University center for collegial community and committed conversation about teaching at all levels and in all academic disciplines. The CTE offers a number of services and resource materials designed to enhance the teaching abilities and professional development of faculty and teaching assistants at the University of Virginia.
The successful candidate will collaborate with CTE staff to develop new program assessment projects, and collect and analyze data for existing ones. The research associate can expect professional development in a collaborative environment and a broad view of faculty development and educational assessment.
The postdoctoral research associate position is a full time appointment, beginning immediately and ending August 24, 2018. The salary is commensurate with qualifications and experiences and includes a range of benefits. Candidates must have their doctoral degree at the time of appointment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. or Ed.D, strong quantitative and qualitative research skills, experience in collecting, analyzing, and disseminating research data, and knowledge of statistical, analytic and reporting software (e.g., SPSS, Excel, and Qualtrics).
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: experience with educational research, educational measurement, program assessment or evaluation, familiarity with the University of Virginia or a large research university context, ability to take direction, assume independent responsibility, and provide follow-up, strong oral and written communication, organizational, and administrative skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to successfully plan and implement assessment projects
