The Development Associate provides high level administrative support for University Advancement in the Jeffersonian Grounds Initiative (JGI) and assists the Director for Development.
The Development Associate coordinates administrative functions such as answering the phone and replying to email inquiries; managing calendars; scheduling appointments; preparing packets of information for meetings and events including directions, agendas, and other relevant documents; managing all travel plans, preparations and activities, making travel preparations on time, preparing itineraries, and processing reimbursements. The Development Associate also works with senior management, provides reporting and tracking, responds to high level donors, and works inter-departmentally. In addition, the incumbent prepares stewardship materials, prospect reports and is responsible for budget management and general project management as needed.
The ideal candidate will have considerable administrative experience; comprehensive knowledge of office procedures and practices; the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with high-level donors, senior University administration, faculty and staff with an understanding of protocol and confidentiality; the ability to prioritize complex projects as necessary; the ability to coordinate meetings and conferences, prepare briefing documents, and interface with high level volunteers. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products, including Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint is required. Intermediate to advanced Excel skillset is required.
Candidates with previous experience in Advance/Advance Web preferred. Candidates with higher education and research experience preferred.
