Associate / Full Professor - Division Head, Respirology
Requisition Title: Associate / Full Professor - Division Head, Respirology - 1700181
The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Division of Respirology at Women's College Hospital (WCH) is seeking to recruit a qualified full-time academic respirologist to serve as Head of the Division of Respirology, Department of Medicine. The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor at the University of Toronto.
The mandate of the individual appointed to this leadership role will be to build and further advance the academic and clinical ambulatory Respirology program at WCH, Ontario, Canada. The ideal candidate will be a leader with a record of excellence and established skills in the areas of clinical care, administration, education and/or research, and change management. The successful candidate must also hold a MD degree, be eligible for certification in Respirology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario. The expected start date of the position is July 1st, 2017, or a mutually agreeable date.
The successful candidate will assess and align the resources of the Division with the strategic directions of the Department of Medicine and WCH and undertake human resources planning with a view to the academic mission of the Department of Medicine in teaching, research, QI and clinical care. The incumbent will also mentor faculty and promote and enforce professional practice and behaviour within the Division. Lastly, the incumbent will develop strategic partnerships with the other TAHSN hospitals and develop and implement strategies to evolve the Division as a model for ambulatory teaching, QI, research and delivery of clinical care in the Department of Medicine, University of Toronto.

The initial appointment is for a five-year term and renewable thereafter, based on successful performance reviews. Academic rank, salary and contractual arrangements will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Compensation will also depend upon the amount of clinical work performed but will be in the usual range for an experienced academic respirologist in the Province of Ontario at a minimum of approximately $200,000 per year.
