Degree and Area of Specialization:
* PhD in Nursing or related field is required.
* Specialization in health informatics research is required.
Minimum number of years and type of relevant work experience:
* Five or more years of funded research experience.
* A strong record of research publication.
* Five or more years of experience in teaching at undergraduate or graduate levels.
* Five or more years of professional experience in informatics field.
The Mary W. Gulbrandsen and Carl E. Gulbrandsen Chair in Health Informatics is a full-time tenure track endowed chair position with the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong record of research focused on health, healthcare, or nursing informatics, health information systems, data science, decision support, or smart and connected health technologies. Research should be consistent with national nursing, health care, public health, or health systems priorities for extramural funding.
The successful candidate will demonstrate interest in and commitment to the teaching mission of the School of Nursing. Expertise to contribute to teaching in informatics, health care leadership, system improvement, data science, decision support, or health information technology is expected. Experience with active learning, concept-based teaching, simulation, and inter-professional education is preferred. Experience mentoring graduate students in research is preferred. An ability to contribute positively to School of Nursing goals for diversity and inclusive excellence is required.
Relevant experience would typically have been gained at a research-intensive university or academic health science center environment. A substantial, nationally recognized record of research, publication, teaching, and service meeting criteria for a tenured faculty, endowed chair position at the UW-Madison will be required.
License or certificate:
* Registered Nurse licensure or eligibility for licensure in Wisconsin is preferred but not required.
* Certification in informatics or clinical informatics desirable.
