Job Description
Under general supervision, the clinical research coordinator will be responsible for providing direct support to seven clinical trials sites across the state. The clinical research coordinator will report to the Principal Investigators of the grant. One of the key responsibilities of the clinical research coordinator will be to design, implement, and manage research training programs for clinicians and staff across multiple sites. The person in this position will lead the development of the multi-site research teams, serving in a hands-on role, visiting and working with site teams across the state as they establish their clinical trial site offices. This position will work closely with PIs and sites to assist and assure site work on local registries, as well as readiness for enrollment in clinical trial studies. Duties will include development of a patient recruitment plan at Palmetto Health/USC to include recruitment and enrollment into local registry once recruitment begins. The clinical research coordinator will design and coordinate research training and mentoring programs. The person in this role will also support clinicians and staff as they develop research specific skills and confidence, along with knowledge of research regulations, and will act as liaison to the data coordinating office training, supporting additional training through this office. This position will support the establishment of the virtual clinical trials office (VCTO) which will connect the clinical trial sites, in conjunction with the site-based research coordinators, and support testing and the iterative design of the VCTO. The clinical research coordinator will work closely with other Research Coordinator and the Data Managers
to develop reports and assure that reporting for both internal and external purposes is completed in a timely fashion.


Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field and 2 years related research experience, or bachelor's degree in a related field and 4 years related research experience; or high school diploma and 8 years related research experience.


Preferred Qualifications
Experience in pediatric research and/or within pediatric clinical setting. Clinical or research experience with health issues like asthma, obesity, diabetes, and conditions such as autism, depression, anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Experience working with families and children in rural, diverse, and/or medically underserved areas. Strong organizational and communication skills. Self-starter. Those with licensure as a licensed practical nurse or a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing with experience in pediatric research and/or within pediatric clinical setting are also encouraged to apply.
