The Electrical Trades Department of Alfred State College is looking for a highly motivated individual for the position of instructor within the Electrical Construction and Maintenance Electricians Curriculum. This individual must have strong working knowledge of AC/DC electrical theory and related mathematics. They must have an excellent working knowledge and practical application experience of the N.E.C. and of electrical instrumentation/test equipment. The selected applicant must be proficient in both residential and commercial wiring methods and applications to include conduit and raceway layout, design and an emphasis on bending calculations. The candidate will be able to manage mid-sized work crews (20+), which includes live work managing the project and classes on work sites as well as teach within a lecture and a laboratory classroom. A working knowledge of Email (outlook), Microsoft word, and Excel is required.
An Associate's Degree in a related field and 7 years of documented professional field experience (including a minimum of 5 years trade experience) is required. Previous teaching experience is a plus. This position will require a willingness to participate in the college learning community and a willingness to advance through continuing education.
