Job Description

The Department of Exercise Science and Physical Education is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in Exercise Science with expertise in Biomechanics and/or Sports Conditioning. The Department offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Athletic Training. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Biomechanics and Sports Conditioning, the successful candidate will also be expected to teach courses in motor learning and/or exercise physiology. Appointment includes teaching and advising undergraduate and graduate students. Faculty members are expected to be active scholars and participate in curriculum development, and in departmental, college, and university committees and events.



Qualifications & Requirements

Required: Earned doctorate in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, or related field; a well-defined research agenda; and evidence of scholarly activities. Preferred: Certification as Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA) or Certified Exercise Physiologist (ACSM). Demonstration of the potential to secure external funds and evidence of the ability to integrate computer technology into instruction highly. We are seeking candidates who demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively in and with socially, culturally, and economically diverse communities; have a commitment to education for social justice, democratic practice, and critical thinking; and/or are interested in addressing issues of diversity in research, teaching, and curriculum development.
