We are growing and looking for talented personnel to join our core team. We are looking for a hands-on Software Project Manager/Scrum Master to manage our engineering development projects. The ideal candidate is proactive, entrepreneurial, methodical and process-oriented while battle tested through years of product development and agile SDLC processes. The candidate will need to work with cross functional teams including development, QA, product management, professional services and support.

Responsibilities - What you will be doing in this role

The Software Project Manager/Scrum Master is primarily responsible for managing the agile SDLC processes across multiple projects and multiple teams, managing the resources and schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of the software while adhering to the SDLC processes. The candidate will significantly contribute to the SDLC processes, engineering deliverables, co-ordinate activities among multiple teams located in multiple locations (and time zones) design, test, development, and support of various software modules.
  • Act as Scrum Master and software development manager for multiple development teams.
  • Manage and continuously improve agile SDLC processes, train the development and QA personnel on SDLC processes, ensure SDLC processes are followed across all development projects.
  • Implement software engineering best practices to create a robust, predictable, priority driven technology organization in an agile environment.
    • Contributes Agile and Scrum knowledge to help improve the organization-wide processes and continue to provide continuous improvement to the agile model.
    • Create/maintain relevant schedule/delivery and code quality metrics to show management how development teams are progressing.
    • Maintain agile process documentation and agile tools.
    • Participate proactively in developing and maintaining team standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Manage day-to-day scrum/project activities including planning, prioritization, resource allocation, monitor project status, change and scope management, estimate delivery dates, proactively prevent project delays, report project status and different project metrics to all stakeholders.
    • Ensure development teams are practicing core agile principles of collaboration, prioritization, team accountability, and visibility.
    • Work to remove any impediments that are preventing forward movement on projects.
    • Tracks team velocity, health and sprint/release progress.
    • Conduct sprint grooming, provide progress reports including but not limited to meta scrum report/burn-down/burn-up charts/User Story Point updates etc.
    • Drive successful project execution - monitor changing priorities in a dynamic environment, look for opportunities for efficiency improvements, align engineering resources across multiple projects to deliver results that meet multiple stakeholder timeframes.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services and Operations to plan and deliver product releases.
  • Spend substantial time interfacing with the offshore team in India on daily-basis.

Qualifications - What you will need to be successful in this role
  • Either a Certified Scrum Master, (CSM), OR Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), OR IC Agile Certified, Professional (ICP), OR Agile Certified Professional (PMI-ACP). or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification strongly preferred.
  • Must have thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience working on software product development processes and product releases at least 2 different companies.
  • Minimum 4 years of Scrum Master experience at least 2 different companies. Knowledge of other project management methodologies a plus.
  • Experience working with a technically diverse team of at least 50 people.
  • Must have off-shore team management experience.
  • Must have extensive experience managing Agile processes using JIRA, Confluence experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must be able to spend substantial time interfacing with the offshore team in India on daily-basis.
  • Demonstrated experience motivating/mentoring others and managing significant change management efforts.
  • Must be a self-starter and proactive who takes ownership of opportunities; works independently, manages multiple simultaneous priorities and projects, and deals well with ambiguity and last-minute changes. The ability to adjust quickly to changing situations and to drive results through ambiguous environments or unexpected obstacles
  • Self-critiquing, open to feedback, always improving, highly collaborative.
  • Superior organizational and planning skills, excellent written/verbal presentation and listening skills, and the ability to present complex technical information in a clear, confident and concise manner.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities, meeting specific deadlines utilizing strong organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail while maintaining sight of the big picture.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong bias for action. Mistakes are okay, going slow is not.
  • If the need arises, willing/able to provide after hours, on-call and escalation support of rfXcel's 24x7 hosting environment, including system outages and incident response.
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree a plus.
