The Center for Public Health Genomics of the University of Virginia is seeking applications for an Instructor, with substantial experience in the design and analysis of large-scale genome sequencing studies. This is a tenure-ineligible faculty position for a senior research scientist, who will be involved in research and development of innovative genomic analyses that complement existing methods. The individual will also analyze sequences from large cohorts as part of several collaborations at University of Virginia and elsewhere.
A PhD in a public health-related field by appointment start date is required. Three to five years experience in collaborative research in a multidisciplinary setting is required, preferably as a post-doc. Applicants should have experience in the design and analysis of large-scale sequencing studies. The successful candidate will be expected to have a track record of peer-reviewed publications. Experience in statistical and analytical methods and proficiency in programming (Python, C/C++ or R) is preferred. The applicant must be motivated, independent and highly organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
