Job Description

The Help Desk Technician will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, software installation, end-user support and training tasks to ensure end-user workstations and network performance meet company and user requirements. The position will provide support to staff on all company supported applications and equipment. This includes helping with upgrades to users' desktop, troubleshooting computer issues, and supporting the internal IS Helpdesk. This also includes interacting with all internal company personnel either remotely or in the office. Performance of duties will be done in accordance with all organizational goals, objectives and company policies while providing a positive work experience for internal users.

Responsibilities include:
  • Helpdesk support and resolve problems for internal users to their satisfaction
  • Quickly and effectively respond to requests received via the IS Helpdesk
  • Installs, configures, and tests new workstations, printers, servers, and other related equipment
  • Modify to include; adds or upgrades of software, utilities, defaults, etc. of workstations
  • Computer orientation and set up of new users
  • Conducts various training and instruction for system users to ensure each workstation is adequate for team members
  • Plans and implements PC imaging refresh and builds
  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to information
  • Responsible for escalating complex issues to the appropriate receiver for further action

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of desktop virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of networking and TCP/IP protocols
  • Basic knowledge of network equipment and core functionality (Routers/ Switches)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; Office 365 is a plus
  • Desktop technologies knowledge to include experience with Windows Server and Windows 7 or later
  • Ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical personnel
  • Able to organize resources and establish priorities
