General Summary: The Department of Computer Science and Information Systems at the University of North Georgia seeks applications for an Assistant Professor of Information Systems to begin August 2017. This is a full-time tenure-track position with benefits. The department offers a B.S. in computer science, a B.B.A. in information systems, a concentration in Information Assurance and Security, five minors in specialized domains of computer science, and an Associate's degree in computer science.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • The faculty member will teach introductory and upper division information systems courses for business and information systems majors and minors, as well as some general education information technology courses.
  • The faculty member will also advise majors, participate in scholarship within the discipline, and serve the academic community.
  • The standard teaching load for an academically qualified Assistant Professor is 18 credit hours per academic year. Extra teaching load, including summer, may be assigned, with the possibility of travel to other campuses.
  • Perform other related duties may be assigned.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
  • A doctorate in information systems or closely related field is required at the time of appointment.
