Unit Job Summary: The Research Professional assists with the research projects of Chicago Booth faculty and post-doctoral employees. The Research Professional builds and manages data sets, conducts field research, creates diagrams, and edits research documentation. Additionally, this individual provides general assistance to faculty and post-doctoral scholars. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: -Helps develop a MBA-level course on Chinese financial market. -Construct data sets in assistance of faculty research projects. -Prepare reports on research progress. -Analyze and organize statistical findings. -Gather economic information through relevant published works. -Write and edit research documentation. This position is expected to last 8-12 months.

Unit Education: Ph.D. in finance or economics by the start date required.

Unit Experience: One year of relevant research experience required. Experience with Stata or another statistical package such as SAS, R, or SPSS and a willingness to learn Stata preferred.

Unit Job Function Competencies: Strong computer skills required, including solid Internet research ability and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Proven data analysis skills are required. Ability to work with both minimal supervision and collaboratively required. Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills, in addition to proven organizational skills, are required. Ability to seek out, coordinate, and appropriately disseminate information required. Ability to tackle multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines required. Ability to follow directions and communicate clearly and effectively required. Familiarity with programming languages such as Matlab preferred.
