Unit Job Summary: Quality Assurance Analyst - Research Products: The primary area of responsibility is of quality acceptance testing and monitoring of historical financial research data and related processes, and software products. Work closely with and assist the Associate Director, Quality Assurance in coordinating necessary testing efforts with various groups at CRSP. Assist in creating, documenting, and implementing quality processes at multiple stages during the system development life cycle to ensure the high quality of CRSP products. Utilize a background in finance, an understanding of corporate actions and their impact on securities and indexes. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES - Assist in the design of tests for internal processes and CRSP historical products in all testing environments based on business requirements and financial data needs - Participate in the design and implementation of regression tests for CRSP research data and data access tools to insure data and database integrity - Execute and document above-mentioned tests. - Effectively analyze, document and report test results. Investigate and isolate suspected product defects, their interactions with supported systems and 3rd party software. - Effectively troubleshoot problems reported both internally and by subscribers, and report clearly and accurately to appropriate parties - Assist in the review, recommendation and implementation of test strategies and plans. - Work effectively with CRSP developers, Business Analysts QAs, and other stakeholders to strike the balance between ideal testing and available resources, and establishing long-term quality targets. - Serve as backup to other user support personnel specifically in providing front-line support and assisting in production of recurring customs. - Contribute to the creation of internal documents. - Present effectively to superiors in areas of responsibility (ie. Progress reports).

Unit Education: Bachelor's degree required. Bachelor's degree in computer science, finance or economics preferred.

Unit Experience: At least two years of relevant work experience required. Experience with a combination of both QA (Quality Assurance) and financial data required. Moderate experience using SQL required. Experience with Visual Studio Team Services preferred.

Unit Job Function Competencies: Working knowledge of financial research and investment concepts and terminology required. Exposure to PowerShell scripts or other shell script writing preferred. Familiarity with administration of supported operating systems required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Attention to detail, strong problem solving and organizational skills required. Strong organization skills with the ability to coordinate multiple activities required. Mastery of Microsoft Office applications required. Working knowledge of statistical software packages - SAS, Matlab, R or other 3rd party software preferred.
