At Stony Brook Medicine, a TH CTS Speech Pathologist II or TH Instructional Support Specialist is a valuable member of our team, who provides clinical services to our patient population. Evaluate and treat patients with communication and swallowing impairments including objective swallow studies (Videofluouroscopic and Fiberoptic Endoscopic) and complete necessary documentation.

Duties of a TH CTS Speech Pathologist II or TH Instructional Support Specialist in the Speech and Language Department may include the following but are not limited to:
Brief Description of Duties:
• Inpatient Hospital Service Delivery to pediatrics and adults with communication and swallowing disorders. Services include: bedside swallowing and communication evaluations and therapy, Video fluoroscopic Swallowing Studies and Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing evaluations, Clinician evaluates oral motor skills, airway protections measures, tolerance of p.o. trials for patient with concern of swallowing impairment. Communication evaluations include oral motor examination, voice, articulation and language assessments. Speaking valve evaluations for tracheotomy patients also include monitoring of O2 Sats and respiratory effort. Clear documentation of findings and plan.
Required Qualifications: MA or MS in Speech Language Pathology for acute hospital service coverage. Candidate must meet Medical Staff Office qualifications for staff privileges and have medical setting and dysphagia experience including objective swallow studies within the past three years.
Preferred Qualifications: NICU/infant feeding experience, NYS License in Speech Pathology, ASHA CCC/SLP Certification.
Special Notes: This is a Per Diem Position. Stony Brook Medicine is a smoke free environment. Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on campus, including parking lots and outdoor areas on the premises.

The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.
