Responsible for all fiscal functions, including budget formulation and modeling, internal financial accounting and reporting for Investment & Treasury, which include Business Services, Collections, Corporate Card Services, Investments Resources, Student Account Services, Treasury Operations. Business Services include Bookstores, Dining & Vending Services, Logo Licensing, Mail Services, Watsco Center, Environmental Health & Safety, Managed Print Services and Risk Management. Consults with and advises the Vice President and Assistant Vice Presidents and other leaders within Investment & Treasury on matters relating to financial planning and budgeting, budget variances, forecasting, financial modeling, year-end closing, project/capital costs and ad hoc reporting.


• Reviews and monitors all accounts and prepares monthly and annual reports
•Manage the preparation and delivery of the annual operating and capital budgets
•Prepares and /or coordinates preparation cost/revenue projections, equipment reserve budget, liability reserves, plant fund analysis and other financial reports as scheduled or as needed
•Prepares deferred maintenance tracking reports
•Coordinates the development of annual meal plan rates
•Reviews monthly reports from contractors to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data presented
•Ensures timely receipt of financial data and commission revenue
•Prepares projections based upon quarterly financials
•Prepares Variance analysis and inputs same in Budget System
•Prepares Flux explanations as requested by Controller’s Office
•Analyzes financial information to identify trends or areas of weakness, Provides ad-hoc financial analysis for special projects; prepares feasibility studies, cost/benefit and breakeven analysis
•Prepares year –end accruals, closing entries and reporting
•Reviews invoices payable and supporting documentation for submission and approval
•Reviews sales tax reconciliation
• Ensure departmental systems and processes have proper internal controls and data integrity
•Responsible for staying current with all university accounting and reporting systems resulting in thorough documentation for reporting, accounting and business systems
•Assist management in matters relating to finance, accounting, policy interpretation, etc.
•Serve as Cost Center Manager
•Assists in special administrative and management projects and other duties as assigned by the Vice President and/or Assistant Vice Presidents


•Strong analytical and organizational knowledge
• Knowledge of budget development, cost and financial analysis to include forecast models and projections
• Knowledge of financial reporting for forecasting, trending, and projections
• Knowledge of contract management
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to develop and enhance departmental policies and procedures
• Ability to communicate with University community on financial matters, which include students, parents, faculty, staff, and both on campus and outside vendors
• Ability to exercise delegated authority to make independent decisions and assume responsibility for analysis and decisions which impact people, costs, and/or quality of service
• Must be familiar with continuous improvement concepts
• Must possess strong financial background with profit and loss responsibility
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office software
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as oral and written communications skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
• Ability to process and manage sensitive information; maintains confidentiality of information.
• Must be detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and effectively interact with all levels of the institution
•Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports
•Ability to use independent judgment
•Ability to analyze and solve problems


  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree and/or CPA preferred

  • Must possess at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience directing, coordinating financial accounting, and reporting systems. Be able to provide direction for all fiscal functions
