Department Marketing Statement

The Department of Medical Laboratory, Imaging, & Radiologic Sciences is housed in state-of-the-art teaching facilities and research facilities at Augusta University.  The MLIRS Department has three spacious, well-equipped CLS teaching laboratories, a preparation laboratory, a research laboratory, two student media rooms, and designated graduate research work areas.  The Clinical Laboratory Science Program graduates approximately 25-30 students annually.

The Department of Medical Laboratory, Imaging, & Radiologic Sciences in the College of Allied Health Sciences at Augusta University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Professor.   This is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position.    Responsibilities include teaching in the Clinical Laboratory Science content area (e.g., Molecular Diagnostics and Immunology), university/community service, and scholarship.  Faculty practice opportunities are available.  

Minimum Requirements  

Minimum qualifications include:

Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Ph.D. in a health-related science, and three (3) years of clinical and/or research experience. 

The preferred candidate will have a record of teaching excellence and sustained scholarship and be currently certified in Molecular Diagnostics through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).

Experience and/or ASCP certification in Cytogenetics is also preferred.

Shift/Salary  

Salary is negotiable depending upon qualifications of applicant.
