A leading engineering and consulting company is currently seeking a full-time Project Manger/Test Leader interested in performing air emissions measurements and testing air quality at industrial sites.
This position is accountable for taking ownership of individual projects. Involvement will include every stage of the project from review of a request for quote to receipt of final payment and closing of the project file.
The individual in this position will direct the course of the project, which includes determining client needs, designing a test program to meet those needs, and ensuring all steps necessary to successfully realize the goals of the project are completed. He/she will ensure the safety of all involved and output a quality product, while meeting financial goals.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate all activities of the projects he/she is assigned. Involvement is on all levels, from the big picture to the detailed minutia of whatever is necessary to realize the project goals. He/she is responsible for communicating with the client to ascertain needs and develop goals, after which a test plan is formulated. It is the ongoing responsibility of the Project Manager to oversee the implementation of this test plan and ultimately process the collected data into a final report. This will include, but is not limited to, financial planning, interfacing with suppliers, coordinating packing, overseeing travel arrangements, creating a job plan which conveys the goals and specifics of the project to the field crew, reviewing field and lab data and writing or reviewing the final report.
The Project Manager will be goal oriented, detail oriented, able to multi-task efficiently and function within time-sensitive constraints. The Project Manager will have excellent communication skills and will use them to keep lines of communications open with his/her clients, Business Leaders, Technical Leaders, and Field Test Leaders. He/she will forge ongoing relationships with clients and will serve as the Clean Air point of contact for those clients. The Project Manager should have a minimum of three (3) years past experience as a Project Manager so he/she is aware of what it takes to execute a test program. He/she has familiarity with EPA test methods and the ability to quickly learn new ones. He/she will utilize this knowledge in formulating goals and identifying solutions in unique situations.
The Project Manager is responsible for the profitability of the project and will manage expenses to attain desired margins, without sacrificing safety or quality.
• Involvement during proposal stage depending on specifics and client relationships
• Ownership of the project after job release
• Interface with technical leaders, as appropriate, to get input on testing methodology

• Creation of protocol, as necessary
• Coordinate laboratory analysis
• Communicate needs of client and goals of project to everyone involved - through dialogue and a quality job plan
• Serve as a resource for crew for any questions or clarifications during field execution
• Review field data
• Review lab data
• Oversee data entry into spreadsheets
• Data reduction
• Oversee assembly of report
• Issue invoices
• Assist in collections, as necessary
• Close project file
• Maintain ongoing relationships with clients
Superb leadership, communication (written and oral), customer service, business and interpersonal skills are required. In addition, the following skills are necessary:
• Operate, calibrate, maintain and repair environmental test equipment
• Collect samples, measure air flow, analyze data
• Mechanical and electronics aptitude
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Works well with others
• Computer skills, including a good working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
• 25% Travel required
