Adjunct Faculty - Biological Bases of Behavior

Founded in 1979, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an independent professional graduate school with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty. Our curriculum and training opportunities prepare graduates to deliver outstanding professional services emphasizing the ability to understand and work with diverse populations.
The Psy.D. Clinical Forensic Psychology Program at The Chicago School is currently seeking qualified individuals to teach courses in the curriculum. The course meets at the Chicago campus and follows a 14-week schedule.
The Forensics Department is seeking qualified Adjunct Faculty to teach the following course:
- Biological Bases of Behavior
This course introduces students to the structure and functions of the central nervous system, the autonomic nervous system, and the endocrine system. Areas covered include sensory and perceptual processes, physiological regulation of the sleep and waking cycles, motivation, and affect. The etiology of psychopathology and aggression will be considered from a biological perspective.
The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty members is to teach courses by sharing theoretical and practical knowledge of the subject, encouraging direct application to the workplace within the field of Clinical Psychology, and managing all course-related issues.
All adjunct faculty members at The Chicago School are expected to be available and responsive to students during the course. This "availability" includes, but is not limited to:
- Active participation in discussion forum(s);
- Timely grading of assignments and providing quality feedback;
- Being available outside of regular class meetings to address student's questions and concerns.
Adjuncts will be provided course syllabi with recommended course texts prior to beginning the teaching assignment.
- A Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology or related disciplines
- Previous in-person teaching experience in the given subject matter or within a related concentration
- Exemplary professional experience;
- Engagement in related research and scholarship (preferred).
