    Dr. Daniele Piomelli in the Department of Anatomy & Neurobiology at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for a full-time position in the Project Scientist Series.

    Requirements: Applications are being sought from recent M.D., Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. graduates. Interdisciplinary skills and approaches are required. Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. Rank and compensation will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

    Knowledge and Skills: Experience in analytical techniques, including LC/MS, GC/MS and sample preparation for small molecules as well as large biomolecules. A thorough understanding of theoretical and practical aspects the above techniques, including chemistries, knowledge of instrumentations with detection methods such as MSD, UV-Vis and fluorescence. Excellent knowledge of instrument control and data management software. Experience in method development and validation, including robustness and ruggedness. Troubleshoot problems and perform preventive maintenance of the equipment on a regular basis. Ability to implement current GLP and keep good records of the experiments. Provide regular reports on project progress.
