Job Summary: Skidmore College invites applications for an On-call Campus Safety position available for NYS certified security guards. This position will be primarily midnight shifts including weekends and holidays. Responsibilities include security patrol and dispatching for the Skidmore College campus, enforcing the college's rules and regulations, conducting preliminary investigations and interacting with a diverse population. Must have physical stamina for required patrol functions and there will be a background check. Prior applicants may reapply.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, at least one year of related experience, a valid NYS driver's license and a valid New York State Security Guard license. Familiarity with computer applications is essential. Candidate should possess good communication and writing skills, and have a working knowledge of the NYS Penal Law and Criminal Procedure Law. Prior law enforcement experience is preferred.
