Project PI in the School of Nursing is seeking a Community Patient Navigator (CPN) to support its project "Decision Navigation for Advanced Prostate Cancer Treatment Options using mHealth". The responsibilities of the CPN includes successfully completing training sessions and ongoing educational activities related to the study, documenting study-related activities, routinely reporting to the supervisory research coordinators, the project Principal Investigator, and the study RN's, and conducting navigation services with a focus on treatment decision-making by the participants. The CPN's job requirements include familiarity with community resources and health systems and well-developed communication and technology skills. The CPN will be responsible for enrolling participants and obtaining patient and care partner written consent; administering questionnaires; and implementing the protocol required. The CPN will maintain contact with the patient on a monthly basis in clinic or by telephone to maintain rapport. The CPN will secure and prepare data for data entry; support formative and summative evaluations of the intervention program; and participate in the site trial initiation meeting and other meetings as needed by conference call. The CPN may participate in the preparation of the final report, presentations, and manuscripts of the study (as desired).
This is a part-time position requiring approximately 16 hours per week. Flexible hours and reliable transportation will be needed. This is a grant funded position and is currently funded through 31-December-2020.
