Position Summary: The position of Director of Student Services is a twelve-month, full time position who reports to the Assistant Dean for Student Services. The Director works closely with the Assistant Dean to manage the full spectrum of Student Services activities at the School of Law. These services include but are not be limited to student organization advising and training, student conduct and safety, student communications issues, student advising and counseling, enrollment management, and student wellness initiatives. The Director is responsible for major event planning (graduation, orientation, etc.) as well as matters relating to the entry of students into the legal profession. Finally, the Director designs and implements programs aimed at building student leadership skills to enrich their co-curricular experience, prepare students for the legal profession and make students more competitive in the job market. The Director oversees the fiscal management of student organizations, including academic journals and competitive moot court and trial teams, who receive student fees and endowment funds. The Director must have the ability and knowledge to act independently and with discretion in the Assistant Dean of Student Services'' absence.

Education Requirements: Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience. Sophisticated working knowledge of the legal profession and legal education. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Ability to interface and effectively maintain relationships with multiple constituencies. Ability to work independently in high-visibility and under high-stress situations. A demonstrated history of experience with leadership activities. Preferred Qualifications Juris Doctor, or equivalent law degree. Two or more years of student affairs experience. Professional experience with diversity and inclusion. Prior work with students in the higher education setting preferred.
Qualification and Experience: Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse individuals on a variety of issues. Must have the ability to communicate with and relate to student issues and concerns. Must be able to work effectively with faculty, staff, members of the community, and alumni; Ability to manage a diversity of tasks while remaining personable and enthusiastic; Ability to assume responsibility, work with limited supervision, and plan and supervise the work of others; Thorough knowledge of administrative principles and practices; Knowledge of or ability to learn university academic structures and programs in the areas of admissions, student services, and academic affairs; Willingness to travel and to work evening and weekend hours as needed in the performance of duties; Highly developed organizational skills and team building skills.
