The Office of Medical Education is seeking to fill a full-time, University Staff (unclassified) FDC Coordinator (Academic Services Professional) position.

Jobs in this career family provide general business operations of the organization or a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple career families. Professionals at the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field.
At the intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performed with guidance and direction from other professionals.
Foundations of Doctoring Curriculum (FDC) is a three-year, longitudinal curriculum that is a required course for medical students in the School of Medicine. The longitudinal curriculum involves a clinical preceptorship for each student along with extensive instruction and evaluation of clinical/professional skills. Students receive training in communication skills and physical exam skills. They additionally participate in multiple professional development activities and develop a better understanding of the humanistic approach to patient care. Much of the instruction involves a small group format, necessitating involvement from numerous full time as well as volunteer clinical faculty. Standardized patients, standardized physical exam teaching associates (SPETAs) and patient models are frequently used for instruction and evaluation, requiring on-going interactions with the Center for Advancing Professional Excellence (CAPE).
The purpose of this position is to provide primary operational support for the Preceptorship component of the Foundations of Doctoring Curriculum. This support entails preceptor database management and development, coordination of preceptor/student matches and evaluations, support of over 450 preceptors and 480 students, arranging meetings, tracking of student preceptorship requirements, and support of other preceptor-related course needs. This support also entails year round recruiting efforts for primary care and specialist preceptors and preceptor outreach activities. This position will provide coordination and tracking of electronic evaluations/logging and website management. This position will also manage affiliate hospital paperwork/EMR coordination and communication with students. Additionally, this position will provide general support to the Foundations of Doctoring Curriculum work unit. This general support entails administrative assistance and back-up for other FDC course activities.

- Manage all four phases of the School of Medicine Foundations of Doctoring curriculum (FDC) from planning to implementation:

Salary and Benefits:
The salary range for this position has been established at $ 35,000 to $ 45,000 and is commensurate with skills and experience. The salary range may be extended for School of Medicine internal applicants, dependent upon skills and experience.
