The College of Business, Humanities and Social Sciences at West Virginia University Institute of Technology, a regional divisional four-year campus of West Virginia University, seeks to hire a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of English.  We are seeking an outstanding teacher to complement the faculty in a multidisciplinary department of History, English and Creative Arts.  


Responsibilities include teaching twelve undergraduate hours per semester primarily of English composition. The successful candidate will demonstrate scholarly interest in English studies, participate in English studies initiatives, and contribute to the intellectual and cultural life of the university. Additional responsibilities include student advising, committee assignments, participation in professional development, attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings, and other duties associated with a tenure-track faculty position.

A Ph.D. in English at the time of application and evidence of effective teaching experience in composition courses at the college level are required. A Ph.D. emphasis in Composition and Rhetoric is preferred. Experience with online instructional technologies, teaching Web classes, and evidence of scholarly promise are desirable.
